Reaction from plaintiffs, govt.

posted on October 16, 2015

Lawyer Itsuo Yoshikawa, who leads the legal team for the plaintiffs, said the court's decision to award compensation is significant.

But he said the failure to order a suspension of flights is problematic.

He added the team will decide whether to appeal the ruling after consulting with its clients.

The representative of the plaintiffs, Toshiaki Tsuda, said it was good for the court to acknowledge the illegality of the aircraft noise.

But he pointed out that the noise will continue regardless of the ruling. He raised doubts whether the amount of compensation was properly calculated.
