Majestic autumn leaves

People stroll along Inui-dori lane amid turning leaves at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Saturday, the first day of an annual opening of the lane to the public to view autumn leaves.

About 2,500 visitors were allowed to enter the lane at 9:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. The event was first held last year to commemorate the Emperor's 80th birthday in December 2013. The lane will be open until Wednesday.
