Maid cafe patron, 36, employee, 21, in critical condition, woman missing in Hiroshima building inferno

Two people were left in critical condition and a woman is missing after a fire broke out Thursday night at a building in Hiroshima's entertainment district, the police said.

Five people were taken to a hospital from a maid cafe located in the two-story multi-tenant Naka Ward building, which was engulfed in flames, smoke and explosions.

A 36-year-old male customer and a 21-year-old female employee of the cafe, both from Hiroshima, were seriously injured, according to police. The police are searching for a 28-year-old female employee who is missing.
