Airport immigration officers to increase

The Justice Ministry said Tuesday it will station an additional 57 immigration officers at two airports in an emergency response to a rising number of foreign visitors.

The ministry aims to facilitate immigration clearance and ensure that all possible measures are taken to prevent acts of terrorism.

Of the 57 immigration officers, 45 will be assigned to Kansai International Airport in Osaka Prefecture and 12 to Naha Airport in Okinawa Prefecture.
