Japan, ROK, China agree to accelerate FTA talks

Japan, China and South Korea agreed Friday to accelerate negotiations for a trilateral free trade agreement and a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) deal among 16 Asian and Oceanian countries including the three.

Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Motoo Hayashi told reporters that the agreement was reached at the day's meeting of the three countries' trade ministers in Seoul.

The other two participants were China International Trade Representative Zhong Shan and South Korean Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Yoon Sang-jick.

The three ministers also agreed to work together to improve coordination among the supply chains of the three countries and to make their distribution, customs clearance and other systems more efficient.
