Tourists spending more in Japan

More than 2-million foreign travelers visited Japan in March, the highest number ever for a single month. The amount of money they spend in the country is also increasing.

The Japan National Tourism Organization estimates more than 2 million people visited the country last month. That's up 31.7-percent from a year ago. The number of tourists from mainland China rose 47.3 percent, while South Koreans are up 40 percent.

The Japan Tourism Agency's estimate for January to March stands at 8.5 billion dollars. That's up 31.7 percent from a year ago.
