Executives at Japan's Mitsubishi Aircraft are expecting an order for up to 20 of their MRJ passenger jets.

The executives have signed a letter of intent with officials at Miami-based Aerolease Aviation. It is the first order for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet in 18 months.

The Japanese firm has received more than 400 orders for the MRJ, the first domestically produced passenger aircraft in roughly half a century.
