Honda releases new fuel-cell vehicle

posted on March 13, 2016

Honda has put on sale a new fuel-cell vehicle that can travel 30 percent longer on a single charge of hydrogen, compared with previous models.

Fuel-cell vehicles run on electricity generated by combining hydrogen in a storage tank with oxygen in the air. The tail pipe emits water only.

Honda engineers say the new model can travel 750 kilometers on a single fill up. They also reduced the size of the generating system to create enough space for 5 people.

The price is about 67,000 dollars.

Honda has started offering the model to domestic companies and local governments first, before rolling it out to consumers.
