Great walls in the making

A meandering path appears on a snow-covered mountain in Tateyama, Toyama Prefecture, as snow removal work begins on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route ahead of the start of the sightseeing season in mid-April.

Great walls of snow higher than 10 meters in some parts will be created as work proceeds.
