Participate in the barefoot walking at the fire-walking festival.

Once a year Yakuoin Temple, which is located atop of Mt. Takao, holds the fire-walking festival to pray for the safety of family, traffic and body. At the ceremony monks walk barefoot over the sacred fire, and you should not miss the opportunity to see this amazing ritual! Visitors also can experience this once-in-a-lifetime event. Of course they will put the fire out before you walk, so you wouldn't get hurt!
