If you want to learn etiquette for drinking Japanese tea, here's your golden opportunity.

In order to introduce the culture of Japanese tea and the culture of Edo era, the event is open to all to those who are new to the Japanese tea culture and from overseas. The tea ceremony is a composite art that pursues complete beauty in all parts of it, including scenery, tools and manners. The philosophy of the ritual is the spirit of Japanese hospitality. It is the great opportunity to learn about it and experience Japanese tradition.

- Outdoor Tea Ceremony -
Enjoy real out door tea ceremonies under the sky.
*Participation fee is 300 yen.

- Outdoor Tea Ceremony in English -
This outdoor tea ceremony enables foreigners to enjoy tea while listening to explanations in English.
*Participation fee is 300 yen.

- Tea Ceremony for beginners -
Tea ceremony lessons for first-time ceremony participants and children. Pair up and make tea with a partner to learn about Japanese hospitality. An English interpreter will assist foreign participants.
*Participation fee is 300 yen.

7 mins from Toei Subway Oedo Line, Shiodome station or Tsukiji-Ichiba station
12 mins from JR Yamanote Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and toei Subway Asakusa Line, Shimbashi station

*A person is allowed to apply only one time per venue.

Fill in necessary information on the application form on the official website and send it to us.

■ By reply-paid postcard
On a reply-paid postcard, write your preferred venue (1.Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum or
2.Hama-rikyu Gardens), date, time (AM or PM), the total number of people (up to 2), and the
representative’s name, address and telephone number, and mail the postcard to the Tokyo Grand Tea
Ceremony Office.
*Please write name, postal code and address of the person representing your party on the replying
side (the back side) of the post card.

*Online application will close at 23:59 on August 31.
*Postcards, postmarked by August 31 are valid.
